We did it, ballooning was just fantastic. It was a cool sort of overcast day but with a beauty of its own. The whole experience was fun, awesome and a dream come true. To look at some photos from that day follow this link:
http://bit.ly/cOgAMr Next adventure starts on Saturday (28th August 2010) as we leave for our South Island trip and back in Wellington on the 3rd October. E-mail while away is [email protected] (ed: incorrect address should be [email protected] - see next post) Feeling well these days which is fantastic, tummy ache appears to have gone and am back eating food again. Yeah. Plan to start oral chemo on the 11th October but with the trip behind me it should be o.k.

Life continues and most of the time is great. Have some yucky days but am
still going. My Oncologist congratulated me on being the longest surviving pancreatic client she had ever had. I wondered if I got a plaque for the wall but she did not think she had any in stock!! Have been challenged by gastric irritation and we finally believe it is due to insufficient pancreatic enzymes (not surprising) and a pill can replace these. Unfortunately my body does not like the pill but am working on it. June and July were up and down days but seem to have settled now and just cope with the side effects of synthetic enzymes. Just wish it could be a bit simpler. Latest scan shows a possible small increase in the tumour size and the Ca blood markers have slightly increased but otherwise, all clear and no new tumours elsewhere. I am happy with 'slight' changes. We are off to the South 0n the 28th August and return 4th October. Oh 30 days of roaming and being good tourists. We are both quite excited to have got this far and that I am fit enough to enjoy the travel. Lynn continues to be such a wonderful support and the love and thoughts from others keep us buoyant and positive. Always up for a coffee or lunch date if anyone is interested, evenings I seem to wilt. |
